Sawyer Railroad Depot

depot.jpg

Ward County's early development was fueled in great part by the constant moving of the railroads. As they moved west, many people followed their progress and many cities like Minot grew from their westward progress.

The depot from Sawyer, North Dakota, was donated to the Ward County Historical Society by the Soo Line Railroad.

In addition to displays and exhibits about the railway system, the depot also includes exhibits of Native American artifacts, an old-fashioned barber shop, and a covered wagon which includes items which pioneers would have brought with them while traveling west.
